Data Sources and Attribution
Four Down uses factual sports information from approved sources and transforms only the fields needed to operate the competition and its informational features.
nflverse game and schedule data
Four Down derives selected NFL schedule, completed-game result, and descriptive matchup-history information from the nflverse schedules release. The schedules dataset is maintained by Lee Sharpe through nflverse schedules release and distributed through nflverse-data under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license (CC BY 4.0).
Four Down filters, normalizes, and summarizes that source data for its own product. Game Insights are Four Down calculations based on historical factual data; they are not copied editorial analysis and do not recommend a selection.
Live scores
During games, live score and game-phase updates may be entered manually by a Four Down platform administrator or submitted through Four Down's authenticated GitHub score-feed workflow. These live states are provisional.
Completed-game scores may be reconciled automatically from nflverse after the completed result becomes available. Four Down's existing platform-admin audit and correction controls remain authoritative for resolving discrepancies.
Third-party names and marks
Data-source licenses do not grant Four Down rights in league or team trademarks, logos, photographs, video, or other third-party intellectual property. Four Down does not treat nflverse attribution as an endorsement by the National Football League, any NFL club, or nflverse.
